This Latvian tennis ace was born on April 13 1990, in Liepaja, Latvia. Anastasija has grabbed 4 singles titles at the Women’s Tennis Association Tournaments. 

Although she was an excellent player, she had scummed to various injuries, including back and muscular problems. Hence, she retired in May 2013. 

However, she started feeling better the very next year and decided to come back into the form. In January 2015, she again started playing tennis and reached a singles career-high ranking of world no. 11 in 2018. 

Tennis Influences 

Anastasija was mainly brought up by her mother. She was a young little girl who was full of life and energy. Hence, her grandmother decided to put her energy to use and introduced her to tennis when the girl was 6 years old. 

Moreover, there was also a tennis club near their home where she was enrolled during summer break. Her mother terms this entire ordeal as a pure chance. 

She never thought or intended to create a champion out of her daughter. She has enrolled Anastasija at the club as a pass time in the summer. 

Growing up, she looked up to Andre Agassi and Steffi Graf, two renowned world tennis champions.

Hobbies and Interests of Sevastova 

Sevastova has been in a long relationship with Ronald Schmidt. Ronald is also her professional coach, who has stood by her side throughout. 

As a sportsperson, Anastasija loves jet skiing and soccer alongside tennis. 

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Anastasija thought of spending her free time trying rollerblades when everything was shut down. Being nature-lovers themselves, she and her boyfriend take adventurous trips now and then.
