Emina Bektas's

Irina-Camelia Begu is a popular Romanian tennis player born on 26 August 1990. She achieved her career-high singles world ranking of no. 22 in August 2016. Also, Begu achieved the WTA Doubles ranking of world no. 22 two years later.

In total, she has won 4 singles titles, 9 doubles titles in the WTA Tour, one singles title on WTA 125K series, 19 doubles and 12 singles titles in the ITF Circuit.

Tennis Influence

Begu was born in Bucharest to Steluta and Paul. Her mother is a civil servant, and her father is an electrician. She also has an older brother, Andrei. 

Begu also had an interest in gymnastics and handball, which she later dropped and concentrated on tennis. The transition wasn't hard for her as she was lucky enough to be introduced to tennis by her aunt Aurelia Gheorghe when she was 3 years old. She participated in a one month tour that was promoted by ITF when she was 14 years old. 

While growing up, Begu idolized tennis pro player Martina Hingis. Her current coach is Teodor Bolanu.

Hobbies and Interest of Begu

If you don't find Begu on the court training with her coach, she will be busy visiting different cities. Her favourite city is New York, and the best tournament in her career was Marbella. 

Moreover, Begu is active on various social media platforms like Facebook, where she has 49K Followers. She keeps her personal life private from the public though she has been in one relationship, which ended shortly ago.
