Ashleigh Barty is an Australian professional tennis player born on April 24, 1996. She is currently standing on top of the WTA, ranked as the number 1 tennis player for singles. 

In her prolific career, she has won 13 major tournaments, 5 of which are Grand Slams so far. For a brief period from 2014 to 2016, Ashleigh even dabbled with cricket even though she had no formal training in the sport.

Barty started her tennis training at a remarkably young age of 4 years old. She had exceptional hand-eye coordination and quite a high level of focus. Jim Joyce, her coach at the time, stated that he made an exception for Ashleigh, as he didn’t usually train children at such a young age. 

It was clear that Ashleigh would become a future superstar of tennis when she played boys 6 years older than her, at the age of 9, and almost always won. By the time she was 12, she already stood her ground against male adult tennis players.

Hobbies and Interests of Barty

Regarding her private life, Ashleigh has been in a romantic relationship with the Australian professional golfer Garry Kissick since 2017. The couple is loved by the public, and they occasionally share moments of their private lives on social media, where the feedback is mostly positive. 

As for hobbies, Ashleigh is passionate about reading and fishing. She is a fan of Hollywood movies too, as her favourite actors are Brie Larson and Chris Hemsworth.
