Aryna Sabalenka is a pro tennis player from Belarus who has been ranked in the past as high as world No. 2 in singles and world No. 1 in doubles by the WTA. She was born on 5 May 1998, and she is one of the youngest professional tennis players. 

So far, Sabalenka holds two Grand Slam doubles championships with Elise Mertens, which were the 2021 Australian Open and the 2019 US Open. She has won a total of sixteen WTA titles, with ten of them being in singles.

Tennis Influences

Aryna’s biggest tennis heroes were Maria Sharapova and Serena Williams when she was little. Similarly to them, Sabalenka’s game is highly aggressive and she typically accumulates a lot of wins and unforced errors. She possesses a powerful serve due to her height of 182 cm. 

Regarding her family, her father Sergey was a hockey player, so Aryna started playing tennis by accident. In fact, they were driving in their car with her father, when all of a sudden, he noticed tennis courts and he took Aryna there, and that’s how it all started. 

Hobbies and Interests of Sabalenka

Since the beginning of her tennis career, Sabalenka has been a Nike ambassador for clothes and shoes, and she’s quite passionate about fashion. Wilson has also endorsed her, as she uses the Wilson Blade line of racquets. 

Having love for big cats and exotic animals, Aryna’s left arm is tattooed with a tiger, and her teenage nickname was “The Tiger '', derived from the tattoo.
