Marta Kostyuk is a young tennis player playing professionally for her country, Ukraine. She was born on June 28 2002, in Kyiv, the capital city of Ukraine. She achieved her career-high rank of world no. 55 at the end of August 2021. 

Tennis Influences

Marta’s family has greatly influenced her tennis career. She has been surrounded by athletes in her family since her childhood.

Marta is the daughter of the former Ukrainian tennis player, Talina Beiko. Her father held the position of technical director at the Antey Cup, which is a tennis tournament at the junior level in Kyiv. 

Apart from Marta’s mother, her uncle Tara Beyko is also a former tennis player. On top of that, her sister, Maria Kostyuk, is a tennis player at the collegiate level as well. Even her cousins Myroslav Slavov and Vadym Slavov are professional football players in Ukraine.

That being said, Marta credits her mother’s tight coaching schedule as her inspiration to take up tennis. At the age of 5, little Marta visited her mother on the tennis court. After seeing her mother on the court, she realised she could spend more time with her if she also started playing tennis. 

Hobbies and Interests of Kostyuk

Marta loves to shop whenever she finds some time. Sometimes, when she is on tour to other nations, she tries to visit some malls to shop.

Marta is currently in a relationship with Alex Zakharov, who is a Russian tennis star. She gives us a peek into her dating life by sharing a few pictures of her and Alex on Instagram.
